I have been married to to my wife Betty for 40 year, and we have 5 children and 14 grandchildren. Before moving to Kuşadası in July 2006 we lived in the same house in Crayford, a small town in Kent, for 35 years.

I have previous experience of running Social Clubs and fund raising for a local Disabled Riding School and a children’s home in Crayford. When I took early retirement and moved to Kuşadasi to enjoy a stress free life, I didn’t expect to be involved once again with Social Clubs and raising money for charity.

In September 2006 I was asked to manage the over 35’s football team here in Kuşadası, to raise money for the Kuşadası Handicapped Children’ Society. Subsequently I was asked to become Chairman of the Anglo Turkish Club social club, when it was formed in October 2006. 

We have made a great many friends through the club, and the club gives expat residents living in Kuşadası a chance to meet and make new friends, and also it allows us to give something back to Kuşadası, by raising money for the Handicapped Children.  We raised a great deal of money for them during the past winter season.

The club closes during the summer months as most of us have commitments, but now that winter is approaching we have opened up once more at the Tur Hotel for the new winter season.
