The Anglo Turkish Club (ATC)
raises funds for the Kusadasi Handicapped Person's School; the
school is partly supported by funds raised through voluntary contributions.

On Monday the 15th February 2010
Huseyin (President), Robin (Chairman) & Rabia (Huseyins wife) went
to the handicapped school and was presented with a plaque. The
plaque was erected above the kitchen door for everyone to see. This
was because the Anglo Turkish Club were the main sponsor for the
kitchen area. As most of you know we have also covered a lot
of other areas. Many thanks to you all.
From when the club first
opened in 2006, we have now raised
and donated a Grand total of 25,775 TL.
Over the summer months the Club raised
another 2,250 TL.
We have
now donated this money to
them.
They needed this money for Garden furniture etc,
On Thursday 30th April (the
last night of the Anglo Turkish Club winter season)
cash (3,465 TL) was
presented to the school. This is to help them finish the kitchen.
The school have asked us to
help towards a much needed Septic Tank for the New School. The cost of this
is going to be 11,000 YTL. The club will be contributing 6,500 YTL towards
this (3,000 YTL which the school are holding plus 3,500 YTL being presented
to them on 19th February at the Tur Hotel.) The other 4,500 YTL needed
will be collected from other sources. This unfortunately means that
the completion of the kitchen will be done at a later date.
The
Septic Tank is
a major priority.
Robin hosted an excellent nights
entertainment, on Friday the 12th September 2008,
at the Tur Hotel. The event was in aid of the Disabled School, and raised a
total of YTL1,310.00 to support the school. Terri Terrell and Colin provided
another memorable night of singing and the turnout was in excess of 75
people.
During the past (October 2007 until May 2008) club season we raised
over YTL10,000
in cash for the school. The
money being raised through a number of bring and buy sales, club raffles,
and donations from club members and friends.
The
final cheque of the season, for YTL3,500, was
handed over to the school at mid-day on Thursday the 1st
May 2008. The cheque was presented by club president Robin to school
President Canan, and was intended to finance a number of projects including:
a comprehensive security system, the new building electrical system,
plus a variety of other essential projects.
